Description
Honeyeaters Hideaway at Vivonne Bay is a wonderful property to enjoy both the beach and easy access to exploring Flinders Chase National Park and Seal Bay, whilst not being too far away from the townships and other attractions the Island has to offer.
2 night minimum stay. 3 night minimum ALL LONG WEEKENDS and EASTER. 5 night minimum stay between 24th December 2013 and 30th January 2014.
Honeyeaters Hideaway is ideal for a couple's retreat, providing simple but comfortable studio-style accommodation with a queen sized bed in the open-plan living area. There is also a small separate bedroom with a bunk bed which sleeps two, and a bathroom with toilet, basin and shower.
The beauty of Honeyeaters Hideaway is that you cannot see any neighbours and it feels like you are in the middle of one of Australia's most pristine conservation parks.
Honeyeaters has a large fridge, a small cooker, microwave, gas barbecue, kettle, toaster, electric frypan, and crockery, cutlery, pots and pans.
Honeyeaters has a reverse cycle air conditioner and ceiling fan in main room.
There is no television reception but plenty of entertainment with a DVD player and DVDs, a stereo and CDs, radio, books and games.
Honeyeaters Hideaway is a short stroll to Vivonne Bay main beach which was voted Australia's best beach in 2003 by a Sydney University study on over 10,000 beaches. Enjoy beautiful walks along this beach, home to the annual KI surf carnival; hire a canoe and explore the nearby river; fish from the jetty; and discover a host of tourist attractions including Seal Bay, Raptor Domain Birds of Prey display, KI Outdoor Action, Kelly Hill Caves, the Koala Walk, Flinders Chase National Park, Remarkable Rocks and Admiral’s Arch. For your convenience, there is a general store in the Vivonne Bay town ship supplying basic groceries, takeaway food, wine.
Owners comment re TELEPHONE RECEIPTION: We get Telstra reception on the road that looks out over Vivonne Bay, a couple of minutes walk away; and at the jetty. We rarely get it at the house though.
No Optus reception at Vivonne Bay but you can get it at Kingscote and Penneshaw.
There is also a phone box at the general store (old school but handy at times)

Location Map
Includes D'Estrees Bay, Flinders Chase, Hanson Bay, Karatta, Macgillivray, Murray Lagoon, Seal Bay & Vivonne Bay.
Voted as having the ‘Best Beach in Australia’, a 6 star eco-lodge which charges up to $10,000 per night, World Heritage listed National Parks… The South Coast certainly must have a few good things about it!
There’s only 200 people permenantly living ‘down south’ but it is the real KI experience. Rugged coast, the most abundant wildlife and brilliant slow drives through national parks makes the south coast very unique. Some of KI’s biggest attractions are here: Flinders Chase National Park, Seal Bay (permanent colony), Vivonne Bay (Best Beach in Australia), Kelly Hill Caves, Remarkable Rocks and Admirals Arch.
KI Outdoor Action is a ‘Must Do’ where you take a Quad Bike adventure through some of the 500kms of tracks to a private beach, sandboarding in the Little Sahara & kayaking the Harriot River.
Summary:
Remote and Wild. Flinders Chase National Park & Vivonne Bay are priority viewings, however long you’re on the island for.
Guest Reviews
"Perfect little hideaway - you could be in the middle of a forest! Rustic and cute, the perfect couples retreat"
Brenton Davis
Great house/cabin in walking distance to the beach.
Well priced for the amenity and central place to explore the other parts of KI.
